Self Service Magazine Project

Hey, guys!

It's been a while I've posted something here. What can I say...? Lack of time and sleep is the worst enemy EVER. But now, when my Fashion Communication course is almost done this year and only few exams left, I can breath a bit easier and write something about my experience while I was disappeared.

To begin with, I would like to announce you that FINALLY I did something related to my course. Thanks God!!! I was getting bored of sewing and garments designs, medium and materials, films about photography and their reviews.
The course was called 'Introduction to Fashion Communication' (it sounds interesting and temptingly, isn't it?) So, we were divided into 6 groups. 2 groups needed to make Dazed and Confused Magazine, other 2 - i-D, my and one more group - Self Service. Honestly, I know lots of fashion magazines but Self Service was the one I've never heard and hadn't a clue how it suppose to look like.

The first step we've took was research about this magazine. We decided that it looks really minimalist, mature and concentrated. The second thing was choosing an issue we want to do. After long discussion we decided that it's gonna be Arts Issue. Besides, the most important requirement was that everything should be related to Galashiels (town, where our university campus is).
Fashion photography was based on different Arts and artists (photos were taken by Rory Russel) Of course, we included several articles ("Is Fashion is Art" , "Hidden Art") and interviews with students from our university, still life photography. Mostly I was responsible for photography and its good looking in a magazine. I needed to do an extensive research about photographers, stylists who have been working with Self Service magazine and then edit photos.
We chose artists from different ranges (sculpture, music, dance and textiles) and tried to style models by adding some details or features that are appropriate for artists we've chose. That's how everything looked in my sketchbook.

We've finished our magazine within 6 weeks which were really intense and stressful but we are still very proud of our self and that's how looks our final magazine!

Dolce & Gabbana Collection Winter 2014

Hey, guys!

I've got a book of Dolce & Gabbana Show W 14! It's absolutely amazing! I have a brilliant flatmate who can get these things. Thanks for her! I still cannot believe it!

I definitely love this collection, it's so royal, posh and Byzantine! So much gold colour and stained-glass. I adore this feeling of having a little piece of this show. I know it's a bit late to share but I'm really happy about it! Every minute I loot at it it looks so perfect. God, please help me! I want everything from this collection so badly! Hrrr!

Anyways, have a look and enjoy it like I do!

Kisses,
Ernesta
